SCHOOL SUPPLIES COLLECTION

       Women of Peace-LWML will also be collecting school supplies for school bags for Lutheran World Relief. The following items are needed: lined paper or spiral notebooks, scissors (blunt tip), rulers, pencils, sharpener (large), construction paper, crayons (24 count), and pink erasers. You may donate these items throughout the year, however, sale prices are the best in August. (Wal-Mart often sells the 24 count crayons for 25 cents.) These items can also be placed by the Giving Tree.

 

PORTALS OF PRAYER

“Portals of Prayer” are available on the table as you enter the worship area. These daily devotions are ideal for a busy schedule. There is a scripture reading, psalm and a brief devotional set aside for each day. They are small enough that you can take it to work to read on your lunch break or it can be read as you sit waiting in the doctor’s office.

             PEACE AROUND THE TABLE

      We're looking forward to starting the next Peace Around the Table on October 10th.  Sign-up sheets  to participate are on the table just inside the door, as well as one for agreeing to be a host.   For more information call Elsie S.

      HUMAN CARE COMMITTEE

Our newly formed Human Care Committee is asking for volunteers, male or female, to assist in various categories of need. We comfort and encourage those with spiritual needs through visits, calls and cards. We let you know we care when you are ill, recovering, shut-in or living alone. We are willing to sit, transport and make meals, if needed. If necessary, we assist with financial burdens. It is God’s way of easing the load. If there are questions, please call Darlene H.
